Congratulations

Congratulations to York Prado! York is one of only about 80 students (out of 500 applicants) who have been selected to participate in the CDC/CRA-W Distributed Research Experiences for Undergraduates (DREU) this summer. This highly selective program matches promising undergraduate students from groups underrepresented in computing with a faculty mentor for a summer research experience at the faculty member's home institution. Students are directly involved in a research project and interact with graduate students and professors on a daily basis.

Congratulations to Chris Hewitt and Martin Press, who placed second and third at the recent IEEE Hampton Roads section 2009 Student Presentation contest. Martin's paper was titled: "PALASS: Portable Application of a Location Aware Social System". Chris's paper was titled: "Preserving Wireless Audio Integrity With Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum." Please congratulate them when you see them!
