Sydney, July 2007

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Computer Science and Engineering at CNU. I moved here in 2005 after 10 years in the Department of Physics at Norfolk State University. My research interests are in the application of emerging learning technologies to understand how students learn science. I am a member of the CNU Institute for Science Education (CISE). My teaching focuses on conceptual development of abstract physics ideas for all students - with a special interest in non-science majors and future educators.  My research is rooted in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Read about my use of Classroom Response Systems under the Technology section of this website. Read about my current research in the TELS, MODELS and TELES projects based in schools and SPHERE in collaboration with NSU and NASA in the Research section. I was a 2003-04 Carnegie Scholar  with the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Stanford, CA.
