CPEN 371W Computer Ethics (1-1-0)

Prerequisite: ENGL 101-102 or 123 effective fall 04-spring 06; ENGR 121 or CPSC 125
Offering: Fall and Spring.

 

This course covers contemporary ethical issues in science and engineering. A framework for professional activity is developed, which involves considerations and decisions of social impact. Current examples will studied, discussed, and reported: IEEE, ACM, and APS code of ethics, software and hardware property law, privacy, social implications of computers, responsibility and liabilities, and computer crime. Satisfies Writing Intensive Requirement.
