Programmers , SSE, Fairfax (2008-05-20)

We have a number of needs and they all center around several core
capabilities:

Programming languages: C# and java are at the top. C / C++ come next.
We need folks that can code but also listen and learn. Most of the work
we are doing is near term (or applied) research so it is important that
the candidate listen to what the customer wants and be able to discuss
both pros and cons of several approaches. The C / C++ skills will need
to be in Microsoft Visual (and MS COM). Though we are looking at
porting a Solaris based app to linux (solaris c and gnu c are very
close).

Writing skills: I write a lot of papers that I present several places.
The candidate will have to be able to supply pieces for some of these
papers complete with references where required.

Speaking Skills: it will not be uncommon to have to give demos and talks
about products and research.

All of the work centers around figuring ways to extend the core
applications that Systematic sells into the customer work flow. We have
some ideas for products that the US office will own but it will be a
year or so before these are ready to be incorporated in the Systematic
core capability. Today and for the next while (into 2010) we are
helping customers to build out the infrastructure to do decision support
(note: we are building out infrastructure and our products plus
extensions are part of that infrastructure).

MUST BE US citizens and can obtain a DoD clearance (If I can get a
clearance anybody can :) ) SSE will obtain and hold the clearance for
the candidate (i.e. not cost to the chosen person)

SSE will send the chosen person to Denmark for training (thus, they need
a valid up to date passport)

All work is based in the Fairfax Va. office.
