  • Congratulations to Amber Marsh for winning 2nd place (Undergraduate Division) at the 8th Annual Student Research Poster Session of Sigma Xi, Tidewater Chapter, held on November 17, 2006 at Christopher Newport University. Amber presented her research on "Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Analysis of Interacting Binaries RS Vulpeculae and U Cephei", which she did as part of an NSF REU grant at Lehigh University over the summer 2006.

  • Congratulations to Marshall Huss for winning the 2006 IEEE Student Presentation Contest held on January 26, 2006 and organized by the Hampton Roads IEEE Section. Marshall, who was doing his research as part of an internship at MITRE Corp., presented the topic " Applying Commercial XML Firewall Technology in Multinational Military Networks ".   • Congratulations to Douglas L. Farley for his 3rd place on the IEEE Student Presentation Contest held on January 27, 2005 and organized by the Hampton Roads IEEE Section. Douglas, who was advised by Prof. Dali Wang, presented the topic "A Performance Comparison of Mainframe, Workstations, Clusters and Desktop Computers". Also representing Christopher Newport University was Tim Masterson, who presented the topic "Using the RLS and K-Means Algorithms to Create an Object Oriented Vowel."
