The current version of ssh is "SSHSecureShellClient-3.2.5.exe"
Hi Everyone,
Good News! We now have an SSH site license for free! What's really great
is that this license covers everyone's home computers (Windows and Linux).
There is a catch to the license in that you can't use this free version of
ssh for activity not related to CNU (especially can't use ssh to make $$).
If you do want ssh for activity not related to CNU then you need to
purchase your own commercial license.
A copy of our licensed SSH is available on the PCSE system, it is
available on all the Solaris workstations in the directory:
/installation/windows
If your home PC is running windows 95/98/ME/2k/NT, then you need the file:
/installation/windows/SSHSecureShellClient-3.2.5.exe
If your home PC is running Linux, then you need the file:
/installation/windows/ssh-2.4.0.tar.gz
You can use your favorite ftp software to connect to the PCSE network, use
your PCSE username/password. Once connected you will be in your own "home
directory".
Example: If your username is llou, and you are a student, then your home
directory is /home/student/llou.
You need to change to the directory /installation/windows. Now just
download the file you need. On a 28.8 modem this will take about 1/2hr.
Windows users, once the file is downloaded to your computer you just need
to click twice on the file and let it install. That's it.
Linux users, you should know what to do ;).
