This is a busy weekend because there are two National races. The first is a NE race at Watkins Glen. Then there's this one, the CEN Mid Ohio National. Rob chose to come here because this is where the important race will be in October, and this is cheaper than a practice day. With the new subframe recently installed, we were hoping for our luck to change and have some good results this weekend. Bob Tunnel was here all the way from Colorado, with is new TC Kline M Coupe. Incidently, Jim Leithauser drove the car from Colorado with no radio of A/C. Those highway construction cones must have looked awfully inviting. Bob went on to take the pole for the race followed by Rob and Phil Lasco. On the way to the grid, the ABS INOP light was on. Is this car cursed!?!? That means there's no ABS. There's nothing we can do on the grid, so Rob races with no ABS. The race has a split start with American Sedan out front. A-Sedan gets a green flag, and after 20 seconds T-2 gets an early green and everybody get a good start but Rob. He dropped from 2nd to 4th on the start. The lack of ABS was a problem in one corner where the rear wheels were locking up. By the end of the race rob was fifth or six out of 8 or so cars. There were two retirements including Doc Mills out for the first time in his '98 Camaro. Doc was okay but the car looked pretty bad. Maybe we'll have better luck at Lime Rock next month.
