Jim Williams from the Agricultural Extension brought a ground water model to show Excel students what is beneath their feet and how it affects ground water. The students also did several activities.

Porosity is an important factor in understanding ground water. There are several steps in the measurement and Excel students were challenged to come up with a method for measurement. Calculators are handy to determine the final values.

The flow rate through different materials is also important to measure.
