Would you think you could measure the area of a dime by dropping pencils on a piece of paper with a square containing Xerox pictures of dimes? Compare the hits on dimes to total hits in the square and you have it. Scientists, engineers, and mathematicians frequently use random events and random numbers to help them analyze problems. Send your solution to me by clicking on my email address at the bottom of this page.

Hitting the square each time is a challenge in itself.
