Layout of a typical Bit Cell

Layout of the Byte Cell

The Byte Cell consists of 8 Cam Cells with custom latching logic to store the result of each byte compare. Four Byte Cells make up one 32-bit memory word. The word layouts are then replicated to make the CAM array. The Byte Cell uses three layer metal and was design for a 0.8u process. The dimensions of the byte cell are 335.5u X 32.2u.
