Status:
Visiting Assistant Professor for Physics and Astronomy
Education:
University of Basle, Switzerland, Ph.D. 2006
University of Vienna, Austria, Master's degree 2003
Mission Statement:
My aim is to provide high quality and innovative education for an independent and just society. I will teach students to think freely in preparation for their future careers in a changing and globalized world with a multicultural and interdisciplinary background.
My research aims to understand the cosmological mechanisms by which galaxies assemble and evolve in the Universe.
In particular, I focus on hotly debated evolutionary challenges of late-type galaxies.
Fields of Interest and Research:
- Formation of structures in galaxies
- Morphological evolution of galaxies
- Stellar populations and the interstellar medium in galaxies
- Influence of the Dark matter on the morphology of galaxies
- Distribution of galactic habitable zones in galaxies
